5 Tips for Q4 2026 Marketing
Are Your Q4 2026 Marketing Campaigns Ready?
If not, it’s “allerhöchste Eisenbahn” (literally “the highest of all railways” in German, meaning there’s no more time to waste. We don’t know why either 😄).
The final quarter is one of the busiest and most competitive periods of the year. Between Black Friday, Christmas and post-holiday shopping, people are ready to spend. But attention is limited, competition is fierce, and timing matters.
So, before Q4 gets into full swing, here are 5 tips to help your brand make the most of the season.
1. Be Where Your Customers Are
Q4 shoppers don’t all discover and buy products in the same way. That’s why it’s important to think beyond one channel and make sure your brand is visible across the different touchpoints where customers look for inspiration, offers and products.
Social media
Social media plays an important role in gift discovery and inspiration. From product recommendations to gift guides and creator content, shoppers are constantly exposed to ideas for what to buy.
Make sure your brand is part of that conversation. Create content that gives people a reason to discover your products, rather than simply posting another sales message.
Email marketing
Email can be especially powerful during Q4, when customers are actively looking for offers and promotions.
A strong email strategy goes beyond sending the same discount to everyone. Use clear audience segments and tailor your messaging based on what different customers are likely to need or respond to.
And yes, sometimes a well-timed discount email really is all it takes. Just ask our team members' mums. 😄
Ads
Paid advertising becomes even more competitive during Q4, which makes standing out increasingly important. With AI making it easier than ever to create ad visuals, many brands can end up producing content that looks surprisingly similar.
Think about how your brand can stand out beyond the discount. Strong creative concepts, recognizable brand elements and a clear point of view can help your ads cut through the noise.
And don’t forget your website
All the traffic in the world won’t help if your website isn’t ready for it.
Make sure your product pages are clear, discount codes work, and the checkout experience is smooth. You don’t want to lose a customer after putting so much effort into getting them to your website in the first place.
2. Start Creator Partnerships Early
The creators you want to work with are likely to be planning their holiday content months in advance, and the best partnerships can be booked well before Q4 begins.
At Hey Stranger, we aim to have all Q4 creator collaborations signed by the end of Q3 at the latest. Some are even planned and secured as early as Q1.
That doesn’t mean it’s too late if you haven’t started yet. A focused, well-matched collaboration can still make an impact. The key is finding creators whose audience and content genuinely fit your brand, rather than simply chasing the biggest follower count.
One 2026 update worth knowing
YouTube changed how it counts public views across the platform on August 24, 2026. A public view is now counted as soon as a video starts playing, while the previous view metric is now called “engaged views” and remains available in YouTube Analytics.
For creator campaigns, this is another reason not to look at view count alone.
When evaluating a collaboration, consider engaged views, watch time, audience relevance and other meaningful engagement signals alongside the headline view count. A creator with a highly relevant and engaged audience can be far more valuable than one with a much larger but less relevant following.
3. Make Your Offer Worth It
A small discount can easily get lost in the noise during the biggest shopping events of the year.
If deep discounts don’t fit your brand, think beyond percentage-off deals. Bundles, free upgrades, exclusive products, gifts or other added-value perks can make your offer feel compelling without simply cutting your prices.
This is particularly relevant when entering the European market. Working with mostly Asian brands, we’ve often observed that shipping fees can become a red flag for European customers, especially when they are already comparing offers from multiple brands.
That’s why free shipping can be a particularly attractive add-on during the holiday season.
The goal is not necessarily to offer the biggest discount. It’s to make the overall offer feel valuable and relevant to the customer.
4. Let Your Brand Feel the Season
Two months of constant discounts can make customers wait for the next sale and gradually weaken your brand’s perceived value.
Choose the moments that matter most instead of discounting everything.
But protecting your brand value doesn’t mean ignoring the season. Quite the opposite.
For German audiences, Christmas carries a strong emotional meaning. It’s about traditions, memories, family, giving and the feeling of the season. That emotional context creates an opportunity for brands to connect with customers beyond the transaction.
Let your creative reflect the moment.
Instead of making every Q4 message about sales, think about how your brand can become part of the Christmas experience. A gift guide, a story about giving, a nostalgic campaign or content around seasonal traditions can all create a stronger emotional connection.
This also allows you to protect your brand value rather than training customers to wait for bigger and bigger discounts.
5. Don’t Stop at December 24
The shopping season doesn’t end with Christmas.
After December 24, people are still shopping. They might be looking for accessories for gifts they received, spending year-end bonuses, treating themselves after the holidays, using gift cards or simply looking for post-Christmas deals.
Plan for the period after Christmas too.
Your messaging might shift from gifting to self-gifting, from Christmas preparation to New Year, or from seasonal offers to products that help customers start the year in a fresh way. A thoughtful post-holiday campaign can help you turn Q4 momentum into a strong start to the new year instead of treating December 24 as the finish line.
One Final Q4 Reminder
Understand your customers. Flow with the season. And stay curious about what’s changing.
Q4 is about understanding what your customers need at each moment, creating content that fits the season, and keeping up with the trends shaping how people discover and buy.
And now, it’s time to get ready for the holidays. 🎄 Make it the most beautiful time of the year, and give your brand a chance to shine just as brightly.
If you’re entering the European market, keep one more thing in mind: what works in one market might need a little local adaptation to resonate in another.
